Stress
Turn stress from being overwhelming, into a motivational force. Learn how to make it a positive part of your life. I can help you to examine your own personal stress triggers and reduce them to a healthier level. You can learn techniques to better respond to stress and feel more prepared to cope with stressful situations both at work and in your personal life. We'll look at the impact of stress upon your physical health and how you can take steps to improve that.
A few examples of problems we can solve:
Work-related issues
I work with a variety of professional groups, including doctors, teachers, and executives. Often my clients are suffering from work-related stress and/or anxiety, burnout, or work-life balance issues. Sometimes they are struggling with confidence, self-esteem or motivation. Others struggle with their career decisions and goals. I can help with all of this and provide coping strategies for use in the work environment.
Anxiety
Anxiety is extremely common and experienced by almost everyone at some time. It can inhibit you and make social and work situations difficult. Learn to understand your anxiety and your triggers, strengthen your ability to handle the unknown, and how to reduce and cope with anxious thoughts and feelings. Be prepared to handle potential anxiety triggers in everyday life.
Coping with ill health
Ongoing health issues or a sudden change in health, can impact upon all aspects of our life and be extremely difficult to cope with. Physical symptoms and their consequences can be mentally challenging, and vice versa mental health can also have a profound affect upon physical medical conditions. Professionally, as a Health Psychologist I can help you to make positive changes around this. Personally, I understand, as I too have significant health issues.
I'm proud to work in partnership with
The Autoimmune Support & Awareness Foundation
as their Chief Mental Health Officer.
Coping with children
I must emphasise that I'm not a Child Psychologist. My focus is on helping the adults in a child's life to cope around them, when behaviour may be challenging and relationships difficult. I've helped many teachers, other school staff and parents via increasing their coping strategies, and their stress and anxiety management. It's important to be aware of our responses, behaviour and coping mechanisms as adults - as children copy them from an early age. Therefore, by improving our own mental health we can not only improve our own coping - but also improve the coping ability and behaviour of our children/pupils.
